Dec 2012 — Antonio Galloni

Smoke, scorched earth, tar, new leather and black fruit are some of the many notes that take shape in the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Mon Hommage. A deep, intense wine, the Mon Hommage is endowed with serious power wrapped around a core of focused, intense minerality. Crushed rocks and graphite are some of the nuances that add complexity on the finish. Today, the 2010 is totally closed in on itself, so readers will have to be a bit patient. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025.

Cabaud’s 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon is a superb follow up to the 2009, a wine that is just as brilliant today as it was last year. Most of the fruit is sourced from the Seiller vineyard on Glass Mountain in St. Helena. The super-talented Luc Morlet is the winemaker.
