The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Mon Hommage bursts from the glass with dark red plums, black cherries, menthol, tar and licorice. It is a big, muscular wine endowed with considerable energy and richness. The powerful, structured finish bodes well for the future. In 2010 the blend is 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025.
I was completely taken with the two wines I tasted from Cabaud. Luc Morlet makes the wines for Phil and Bonnie Cabaud. Mon Hommage is 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Petit Verdot, 95% from the Seiller vineyard on Glass Mountain in St. Helena and 5% from Missouri Hopper in Oakville.
